1953 EXECUTIVE RECORD and TRAVEL GUIDE This is a leather bound book with an illustration of Faneuil Hall, Boston, on the front cover, a silk bookmark bound in and all page edges gilded. It is unused--still ready to aid anyone willing to travel back 60 or so years in time. These books were produced by Brown & Bigelow of St. Paul, Minnesota starting in 1946 and continuing into the 1960s at least. This particular book has the imprint of SHARPE, a dealer in air compressors and paint spraying equipment based in Los Angeles, California, on the front cover. There are 400 pages with all kinds of useful information, maps, calendars, airline distances, automobile mileages, appointments, cash discounts, business expense summaries, holidays and important events, records of donations, overseas telephone service, railroads and railroad abbreviations, national parks, monuments and historical areas, information on patents, rates of interest, telephone numbers, time zones, trade associations, travel memoranda, US populations for states and all major and minor cities and towns, etc., etc., etc. From the book’s introduction: “...this book is dedicated to the great force of time. There is very light scuffing or rubbing of the leather visible at the edges, but overall the cover is in wonderful preservation. The leather is not brittle or deteriorating. The interior is very clean, no names writing, stamps, marks, or odor. The hinges and binding are excellent with no loose or missing pages.
